Why you should buy iPhone cables with this label

Have you ever lost your original iPhone charger, went to the store to find a cheaper alternative, only to come home and find out that it doesn’t work? Well, you’re definitely not the first, and I’m betting you didn’t even know what to look out for.

This label means that the product is MFi compatible (made for iPhone, iPad, iPod). It also means that it’s certified by Apple and is safe to use with the device. Whew! Cheap chargers can damage your phone, only work for a few days, and in extreme cases, even start fires. A recent study found that “99% of counterfeit apple chargers bought online fail a basic safety test” Now, while the odds of your iPhone catching on fire from a faulty charger is extremely unlikely (come on, we’re not the Samsung Note 7 here) it’s easily preventable by watching out for this label.

But wait, there’s more. If you want to look up the legitimacy of a product sold from Amazon, use sites like WWW.FAKESPOT.COM. So next time you’re shopping for iPhone chargers make sure you look out for the label!
